Cocktails, Recipe

Summer is for spritzing. Here’s how…

Effervescent and seriously sip-able, spritz is a happy hour obligation. Cheersing a fruity cocktail, hosting #AperolAppointments with the gals or having a fizzy fiesta at your place calls for some ritzy, spritzy recipes. Some naysayers claim the spritz has had its heyday, but we’re nowhere near tired of this cult summer accessory. The spritz season is here and we’re right amongst it.

To ensure your 2020 is full of tasty tipples in hand, we’ve whipped up some cheeky sips to turn you into a spritzing sensation. With a Sunday Wine Co Pop the Prosecco Pack in your vault, a good playlist and some fabulous company, your Hot Girl Summer is about to get a whole lot fizzier.

The Aperol Spritz

What’s neon orange, stupidly sessionable and good to share with an Italian Stallion? You guessed it, the Aperol Spritz. Possibly the reigning queen of spritz land, the Aperol is a Euro-leaning classic that remedies those 40+ degree days. For the girl that always says “spritz me baby one more time,” go for this classic orange pour.

What you’ll need:

For the drank

  • 60ml Umberto Luigi Prosecco DOC Extra Dry, Veneto Italy (from our Pop the Prosecco pack).
  • 90ml  Aperol
  • A dash of soda water

For the garnish

  • Orange wedge

Here’s how:

  1. In a large wine glass, add ingredients first and fill with plenty of ice.
  2. Garnish with an orange wedge.

(Makes 1 smashable serving)

The Limoncello Spritz

Tired of the ol’ Aperol? Some cocktail mavens just don’t vibe with the unique tang of an A.Spritz, and that’s okay.
